I don't understand, is this a broadcast radio or internet radio?

Well, it's both. The point of the project is to legally reenter the public airwaves, which is a public space- but you can only go there if you are rich. The internet radio makes it possible for every to work together and enter the public airwaves as a group.

How do I listen?

If you are near a transmitter, you will be able to listen on AM 1680. If you are not, you can listen to our stream if you have an internet connection.

How can I submit content?

Right now you will have to do this in person, but we will soon have an automated system for uploading your own content. Please see the page dedicated to submitting content for more information.

Why are you broadcasting on AM?

For various reasons. AM is less crowded and thre are less large corporate stations that would try to bump us out. Also, the smallest transmitters are cheaper and therefor easier to have individuals become involved. However, this is currently under reconsideration. Many participants seem to prefer to spend a little more money and have and FM transmitter. And who are we to stand in your way? To give us feedback on this please go to the FORUM. We're relaunching in the summer and if we change, we'll do it then.

How do I become a broadcaster?

Just get a transmitter and plug it into the headphone jack of your computer. For more information on transmitters, please go the the microtransmitter page.

Is this really legal?

As far as we can tell, yes. However, the law is subject to its interpretation and enforcement. Someone may not like it and try to muscle networked radio out of the picture. But as long as everyone plays by the rules, there should be no problem.

What is your content?

The content is whatever you, the listener and participant, make it to be. If you want music, send us music. If you want news, send us news. If you want, gameshows, well you get the idea. Although the content does have to be manually composed right now (and therefore curated) soon it will be a fully automated system.
